AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the perceived similarities and differences between two chemistry courses, specifically Chemistry 1 and an introductory course. Participants note that while the courses may appear identical, they likely cover different content and skills. One participant suggests that reviewing the specific course descriptions from the college could clarify distinctions. There is also mention of a previous inquiry on the topic, which did not yield satisfactory answers. A humorous suggestion is made to take both courses to determine their differences firsthand. Overall, the conversation emphasizes the need for detailed course information to understand how the two classes differ.

These two courses seem like they would be identical aren't they ? How is chemistry 1 any different at all?

That was a TOTALLY different question, and also, There were no answers, the first person to answer said they did not know, and the other 2 answers were too vague.

Also, in that question that you put up, the question is how are the two courses different, the question on this thread is, are these courses the same course? They seem very similar.

You will learn how to solder in the Chemistry I class whereas knitting is preferred in the Intro course.

Take them both and see for yourself...:-p

It seems like a simple enough question: what is the solubility of epsom salt in water at 20°C? A graph or table showing how it varies with temperature would be a bonus. But upon searching the internet I have been unable to determine this with confidence. Wikipedia gives the value of 113g/100ml. But other sources disagree and I can't find a definitive source for the information. I even asked chatgpt but it couldn't be sure either. I thought, naively, that this would be easy to look up without...
I was introduced to the Octet Rule recently and make me wonder, why does 8 valence electrons or a full p orbital always make an element inert? What is so special with a full p orbital? Like take Calcium for an example, its outer orbital is filled but its only the s orbital thats filled so its still reactive not so much as the Alkaline metals but still pretty reactive. Can someone explain it to me? Thanks!!
