AI Thread Summary
To create Flash-based animations, Adobe Flash (Macromedia Flash) is the recommended tool, with version 8 being the latest. While there are third-party alternatives like Swish, they lack the power and capabilities of Flash, making them suitable only for simpler animations rather than full-fledged Flash web applications. Users may find Flash's interface somewhat intimidating and should consider using the free trial to familiarize themselves with its layout. An Adobe Flash Player 8 Professional is necessary for optimal use.

I want to make some of those nice Flash based animations. I understand that there are a few different tools from Adobe.

Which one is the best to work with?

You would use Adobe (Macromedia) Flash. The latest version is 8. There are some third party tools that enable you to create flash animations as well, such as Swish, but they're not as powerful as Flash, though they might suit your needs if you just want some animations rather than a flash web application.

It's got a bit of a learning curve...

yes, flash. um infact you will need a adobe flash player 8 professional.

you should use the free trial to see it's kinda intimidating too see the layout  although i made a couple.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
