Determining electromagnetic force and fields

AI Thread Summary
To determine the force required for two electromagnets to repel each other at a distance of 0.5mm with a diameter of 1.5mm, a clear formula is needed. Additionally, calculating the total electromagnetic force between multiple magnets spaced at a specific distance requires further clarification on the setup. The lack of responses indicates that the initial question lacks detail, making it difficult for others to provide assistance. Providing more specific information about the electromagnets and the desired calculations will likely yield better engagement and responses. Clear communication is essential for effective problem-solving in forums.

Hi! I'm new to the forum and could really use the help. I am trying to determine the formula to use in order to establish the force needed for two electromagnets to repel a distance of 0.5mm if each is 1.5mm in diameter. Also, how to calculate the total electromagnetic force between X number of magnets, each set a Y distance between one another.

Mregal,

Don't take it personally that nobody is respodning to your post. It's because the question isn't very clear and nobody knows how to answer it. Explain to everyone what you want to know in more detail and people will respond.

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
