AI Thread Summary
Many students experience anxiety after exams, often feeling they performed poorly only to find out later that their results were better than expected. Conversely, some may leave an exam confident but receive disappointing grades. A common frustration expressed is the realization that understanding the material doesn't always translate to effective communication on the exam, leading to concerns about not adequately conveying knowledge in written form. Ultimately, the uncertainty of exam performance is a shared experience among students.

Hi all. finished the first two papers from my final degrees in physics. Paper 1 was fine but paper 2 was just horrible . I attempted 3/4 q's not all greatly, My question is: Has anyone else here left an exam feeling rotten about what they answered and after a few results showed you didnt too badly after all.

Lots of people.

Also, lots of people walk away thinking they did badly and discovered that they actually did do badly. You can't tell until you have the test back.

I think the real biter is when you know what you were doing, but you realize you didn't write it on paper...lol

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
