Dimensions and Degrees of Freedom

AI Thread Summary
Dimensions in space exist because they align with our observations of the universe, and questioning their existence may not yield productive answers. The concept of an information matrix, as proposed in digital physics, remains a possibility that has not been conclusively disproven. The relationship between dimensions, digital physics, and the holographic principle is complex and not fully understood. The holographic principle suggests that the information contained in a volume of space can be represented on its boundary, which may relate to the other concepts discussed. Overall, the interplay between these ideas invites further exploration and understanding.

I had three questions that had to do with spacetime, digital physics, and the holographic principle:

1. Why are there dimensions in space?

2. Why isn't there just some sort of information matrix as suggested in digital physics?

3. How do these two ideas work with the holographic principle?

1) Because that's what we observe. Asking why something is true won't get us anywhere.

2) No expert on digital physics, but I don't think that possibility's ruled out, and I doubt there's any way to disprove this.

And I don't know much about the Holographic Principle, so I can't help you there.

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
