Direct connection of two batteries

AI Thread Summary
Connecting the positive terminals of a 5-volt and a 10-volt battery, along with their negative terminals, without any resistance can lead to dangerous outcomes, including potential fires. This setup creates a short circuit, causing large currents to flow due to the low output impedance of the batteries. The higher voltage battery may discharge rapidly while the lower voltage battery could charge, but this is highly unsafe. Such connections should be avoided to prevent damage and hazards. Proper precautions and components are essential when working with batteries.

If i connect the positive terminal of a 5 volt battery to positive terminal of 10 volt battery and the negative terminals of both batteries are also connected without using any resistance or any other components in between what will happen to the two batteries?. Will the one with higher voltage discharge and the one with lower voltage charge?

Please don't do that. It could result in a fire or other bad things happening.

Batteries are low output impedance voltage sources, and large currents could flow if unequal batteries were connected in parallel.

Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
Hello dear reader, a brief introduction: Some 4 years ago someone started developing health related issues, apparently due to exposure to RF & ELF related frequencies and/or fields (Magnetic). This is currently becoming known as EHS. (Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed.) She experiences a deep burning sensation throughout her entire body, leaving her in pain and exhausted after a pulse has occurred...
