Does Electrical Engineering Get Easier After Completing Calculus and Physics?

AI Thread Summary
Balancing a full-time job, family responsibilities, and pursuing an Electrical Engineering (EE) degree can be challenging, especially for a 30-year-old student currently attending community college. The student has completed Calculus 1, 2, and 3, and is finishing Differential Equations, alongside the first of three engineering physics courses. Concerns arise regarding the extensive course load outlined in the local university's flow sheet for EE. The student seeks insight into whether the difficulty level decreases after completing foundational courses in calculus and physics. Responses indicate that while the workload remains consistent, the complexity of lab work may vary, but overall, the academic rigor does not significantly lessen as one progresses through the EE curriculum.

Hi guys, I am 30 years old, I work pretty much full time and I am working towards my EE degree slowly right now at a local community college. I took Calc 1,2,3 finishing Diff Eq now during summer semester, took engineering physics too (1st of 3).
It is difficult stuff just due to time constraints, work house, wife, boring adult stuff to do.
I was looking at my local Universities flow sheet for EE and it is a LOT of classes.

Once you get through all the calc/diff and Physics does it get "easier"
I am have to dedicate a lot of time to my physics homework and doing physics lab.
Is the workload for Electrical Engineering classes about the same ?

From my experience, class work stays about the same. The lab work may or may not get more difficult and time consuming. I would not say it gets significantly easier.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
