Does Rolling a Magnetic Core on a Magnet Affect Its Properties?

Click For Summary
Rolling a magnetic core on a magnet may influence its magnetic properties, particularly permeability and field strength, but the extent of this effect depends on several factors. The type of core material, such as ferrite, powdered iron, or laminated steel, plays a crucial role in determining the outcome. Additionally, the shape of the core, whether toroidal or otherwise, and its initial magnetization state are significant considerations. Clarifying these details is essential to understand the theoretical basis behind any changes in magnetic properties. Overall, the interaction between the core and the magnet during rolling could potentially enhance the core's magnetic characteristics, depending on the specific conditions.

Hi

Quick question related to magnetism

If I have a magnetic core and place that core onto a magnet, then roll the core on a flat surface ( whilst its still on the magnet), does that increase the permeability and magnetic field of that core ? If so, what is the theory behind that.

thank you in advance

Can you upload a sketch please (use the "Attach files" link below the Edit window).

Also, what shape magnetic core? Is it magnetized in some way? And what do you mean by "placing it on a magnet"?

What grade of material is the core made from?
Ferrite, powdered iron, or laminated steel?
Is it toroidal core?

Hello! I want to generate an RF magnetic field at variable frequencies (from 1 to 20 MHz) using this amplifier: https://www.minicircuits.com/WebStore/dashboard.html?model=LZY-22%2B, by passing current through a loop of current (assume the inductive resistance is negligible). How should I proceed in practice? Can i directly connect the loop to the RF amplifier? Should I add a 50 Ohm in series? Thank you!
