Does the Earth Have an Excess of Positive Charge?

AI Thread Summary
Most cosmic rays impacting Earth consist of positively charged particles, such as protons, which raises the question of whether the Earth has an excess of positive charge. However, this notion is likely incorrect due to the abundance of free electrons in outer space. These electrons would be attracted to any positive charge on Earth, creating a balance. The interaction between cosmic rays and Earth's charge dynamics suggests a more complex relationship than a simple excess of positive charge. Ultimately, the evidence indicates that Earth maintains electrical neutrality despite the influx of positively charged cosmic particles.

most of the cosmic rays that hit the Earth is made up of positively charged particles, like protons. This suggests that the Earth has a growing excess of positive charge ...
Is this true?

Probably not. There are enough free electrons in outer space. As a result any positive charge on Earth would attact electrons to balance.

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
