I am new here and asking question for the first time of course. My question is very simple. Does electric field intensity exist 'inside' a wire carrying current? Please explain the answer.

Yes. Wherever there is a current density there is an electric field given by Ohm's[/PLAIN] law: [itex]\mathbf{J} = \sigma \mathbf{E}[/itex]
