I Had been given an assignment on electronic properties of materials in reduced dimension as mentioned above so I have been given another option to choose whether it to be a theoretical approach or experimental approach which one should I choose.

What level in school are you? Is this for a short paper, or a senior project, or a dissertation?

And what do you mean by reduced dimensions? How much are you trying to simplify things? A
nd how can you simplify the electronic properties of materials by just reducing the number of dimensions that you use to analyze them? Are you talking about classical V=IR kinds of things, or quantum mechanical band theory?

By "experimental approach" do you mean (a) planning an experiment, or (b) actually performing an experiment? If (b), do you have (1) the resources to either fabricate or obtain a sample and (2) the equipment to take the measurements?

I'm an undergraduate student ,planning to work on Quantum dot ,nano structures and plan to go little advanced in this field . This is just a summer introductory research course.
