AI Thread Summary
Craving ice-cold water, even without physical exertion, is a common experience, especially during hot weather. The discussion highlights how salty snacks, like salt and vinegar chips, can intensify this craving. Concerns about water being fattening are mentioned, but there's skepticism about this notion. A reference to a study suggests that even non-caloric foods can impact cholesterol levels, though this is seen as an exaggerated concern. The conversation also humorously notes that cold water is a natural preference for certain animals, like penguins, reinforcing the idea that such cravings are instinctual.

Any of you ever craved a nice glass of ice cold water?

And not after any strenuous physical activity?

Because I just did. God, I'm going to kill our brita filter tonight. I hope water isn't fattening.

Yes I did. These hot California days do that to you. Although this week is not looking as bad as last week.

This is silly, all Penguins crave cold water, or... they wouldn't be penguins...

Fall colors are here, no mosquitos, no deer flies, and mild temperature, so my morning run was unusually nice. Only two meetings today, and both went well. The deer that was road killed just down the road two weeks ago is now fully decomposed, so no more smell. Somebody has a spike buck skull for their...
