Fixing Unintended Browser Back Arrow Key Action

AI Thread Summary
Enabling dead keys allows for the typing of accented characters like ç, é, è, and ñ. However, using Alt codes can conflict with browser shortcuts, such as pressing Alt + 4, which navigates back a page instead of inputting the desired character. To resolve this issue, users may need to adjust their keyboard settings or disable conflicting browser shortcuts. Additionally, dead keys may stop functioning due to changes in keyboard layout or settings, requiring a reconfiguration to restore their functionality.

I have turned on dead keys, so I can type characters like: çéèñ

but when I try to do alt codes, and press 4, it will take me to the previous page in my browser. (4 is the back arrow key)

can I stop this?

I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
