Gravitational wave physics and numerical relativity ?

AI Thread Summary
Gravitational wave physics and numerical relativity are gaining attention, with discussions highlighting their potential for future expansion in research. Despite the current limited number of universities offering dedicated research facilities in these fields, interest remains strong among students and researchers. The Rochester Institute of Technology is noted for its emerging focus on astrophysical sciences and technology, despite lacking a graduate program in physics and only offering a master's in mathematics. This indicates a growing recognition of the importance of gravitational wave research and numerical relativity in the academic landscape.

What do you think about Gravitational wave physics and numerical relativity ? Will it expand much in future? Now few universities are giving research facilities on these two. Why ? But i really like these two.

A (presumable) lesser known university I know of would be the Rochester Institute of Technology (ccrg(DOT)rit(DOT)edu) in New York. Although they lack a grad program in physics as well as a PhD program in mathematics (MS only) they seem to be ramping up a PhD in "Astrophysical Sciences and Technology."

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
