Recent discussions highlight a notable increase in sleep difficulties among individuals, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere, where shorter daylight hours may contribute to symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Many report waking up frequently during the night but are able to return to sleep quickly. To combat these issues, exposure to bright light in the evening for at least two hours is suggested as an effective remedy. This approach is considered safer compared to other potential treatments for SAD. Further information on SAD can be found on resources like the Mayo Clinic.
I have had (more) difficulty sleeping within the past few weeks -- so did at least another person whom I know. Has anyone else had a similar experience recently?
If you're in the Northern Hemisphere - long dark period now - you are possibly showing signs of a condition reported as SAD - seasonal affective disorder.
The photoperiod is not your friend. One solution is at least two hours of very bright light in the evening. Anyway, bright light has far less chance to harm you, other choices to deal with SAD might.
