AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on designing an automatic floor scrubber, with an emphasis on using planetary gears. Participants suggest providing specific design requirements, such as cleaning efficiency around obstacles and the type of scrubbing mechanism (rotating disk vs. cylindrical drum). Additionally, the importance of detailing available materials and equipment is highlighted for better guidance. Recommendations for relevant literature on the subject are also sought. Clear project parameters will enhance the quality of advice received.

Hi,
I am currenty doing a project which involves building an automatic floor scrubber. I am thinking of using planetary gears for my design. Could someone please give me some advice on the design. Are there any good books that i can refer to. Any form of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have any requirements given? Like how closely it can clean around obstructions (table legs, walls, etc) or whether your scrubber must use a rotating disk or a cylindrical drum, or whether it must carry and apply water or some cleaning solution? You'll get better advice if you tell people what your guidelines are, what kind of materials and equipment you have access to, etc.
