AI Thread Summary
To adjust the cabinet dimensions from 1000x450x350mm to 500x500x300mm, one must first determine the board sizes needed for both configurations. For the original size, the boards would be cut to 1000mm, 450mm, and 350mm, while the new dimensions require boards of 500mm, 500mm, and 300mm. If the boards for the original size have already been cut, it may be possible to repurpose them for the new dimensions, but material loss during cutting must be considered. Tolerances for cuts can affect the final dimensions, so precise measurements are crucial. The discussion also raises the question of whether multiple cabinets are being manufactured, which could impact material management and cutting strategies.

Please someone help me to answer this question...Urgent

You're halfway manufacturing a cabinet 1000x450x350(D).You're informed that the size change to 500x500x300(D).What do you do?

Assume you are making a cuboidal box. What are the sizes of the boards needed in each case ? Since it's not stated at what stage the change occurs, let's assume you've cut the boards to the first requirement. Now from these boards, can you cut the boards needed for the second case ? What are the allowed tolerances ? If you take a 1000 long board and cut it in half, you get nearly 500 long boards, but you lose material some from the cut, unless you shear.

And when you say 'manufacturing', are you making just one cabinet or several ?

That should get you going...

Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
Thread 'How can I find the cleanout for my building drain?'
I am a long distance truck driver, but I recently completed a plumbing program with Stratford Career Institute. In the chapter of my textbook Repairing DWV Systems, the author says that if there is a clog in the building drain, one can clear out the clog by using a snake augur or maybe some other type of tool into the cleanout for the building drain. The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...
