AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the differences between the dry weight and fresh weight of human bones, specifically the humerus and femur. It highlights that these weights are not the same, with fresh bones typically weighing more due to the presence of water and organic materials. The term "dry" refers to the removal of moisture, which significantly reduces the weight of bones. Participants are encouraged to provide specific weight measurements for these bones, while also acknowledging the biological reasons for the weight differences, such as moisture content and the structural composition of living versus dried bones.

Hi.

It seems the dry weight and fresh weight of each human bones aren't the same, for example the dry weight and fresh weight of a man's humerus and femur aren't the same and very different. What is the dry weight and fresh weight of a man's humerus and femur?

Replies? Anyone?

Can you think of a reason why a person's bones, ripped from the living flesh, might weight more than when they are dried out? (Hint: what does 'to dry' mean?)

He's asking for the weights, not why they differ.

Can someone give some answers and opinions?
