Calculators How can I solve inequalities with a TI-89?

AI Thread Summary
The TI-89 calculator does not support the 'solve' command for inequalities in the same way it does for equations. To solve inequalities, one effective method is to first solve the corresponding equation to find critical points where the sides are equal. Then, test a point in each interval created by these critical points to determine whether the inequality holds true (i.e., whether the region satisfies ">" or "<"). This approach allows users to identify the solution set for the inequality.

I've got a TI-89, with which I'm trying to solve an inequality. Not a specific one, just in general. I try to use the 'solve' command just as for equations but with an inequal-sign instead, but it doesn't work. Anyone?

But places where the sides are equal separate places where they are "<" from places where they are ">". If you don't have too many solutions to the equation, check one point between two solutions to see if that region gives ">" or "<".

Thread 'Urgent: Physically repair - or bypass - power button on Asus laptop'
Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
