Introducing Physics for Beginners

I was wondering if there are any books or perhaps media that might explain the basic of physics for a complete novice. I, somehow, developed an interest in learning more about this particular set of science. If you would be kind enough to introduce me to some educational materials, it would be greatly appreciated.

I really like Khan Academy's video lectures. Over 2000 10 minute lectures on a wide variety of science and math.
