AI Thread Summary
A KBO the size of Mars would not be classified as a planet but rather as a dwarf planet, as it would not have cleared its orbital neighborhood. Mars is significantly larger than any known KBO, being hundreds of times larger than the largest KBOs. Additionally, the total mass of the Kuiper Belt is estimated to be less than that of Mars. Therefore, even a KBO of that size would still fall short of the criteria for planet classification. The discussion emphasizes the distinction between planets and dwarf planets based on orbital dynamics.

If one were to be found, would it be a planet?

No, it would be a dwarf planet, as it will not have cleared it neighborhood.

Note that Mars is hundreds of times larger than the largest KBO's and that the total Kuiper Belt mass is probably less than that of Mars.

Now that they have shared their findings with the larger community someone else might find an explanation - or maybe it was actually made by life.
TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
