AI Thread Summary
Magnesium oxide (MgO) powder is being discussed in relation to its safety during milling to obtain nano-powder. Concerns have been raised about its potential explosiveness and overall danger when handled. The lab personnel indicated that MgO is hazardous, but this viewpoint is not universally supported, as some individuals claim it is safe to work with. The discussion references a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for MgO, suggesting that further examination of safety guidelines and handling procedures is necessary to clarify its risks.

Dear all,
I got 20 grams of Mgo powder to be milled (to obtain Nano-powder). The person in charge of the lab said, being explosive (or something else), Mgo is a dangerous material to work with. Is it true? (since I have not found this anywhere else and some friends said it is not the case)
