AI Thread Summary
CLA, or Conjugated Linoleic Acid, is a trans-fatty acid found in fatty meats and eggs, known for its potential antioxidant properties and marketed as a weight loss aid. Users are curious about its safety and potential side effects, particularly regarding its impact on insulin usage in the body, which remains a controversial topic. Some individuals report positive experiences with CLA, although definitive results may take time to assess. Additionally, the discussion includes the use of multivitamins to counter potential nutrient loss during workouts. Overall, there is a call for shared experiences and insights regarding the effectiveness and safety of CLA supplementation.

I've been looking at CLA products. I was wondering if anyone knows much about them and if they are safe to take? Are there any side effects that I need to be aware of before I start taking them?

I totally bought some CLA the other day. I think I like it so far, but I wont' know for sure til later in the workout process. I also got some multi-vitamins, because I think I might lose some of them when working, not sure...

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Please share...I need all the help I can get.

For those who didn't know, like me, CLA is "Conjugated Linoleic Acid". It is a trans-fatty acid, occurring in fatty meats (most abundant in Kangaroo meat!) and eggs which, oddly, appears to be an anti-oxidant and is marketed as a weight loss aid. There is some (controversial) evidence that taking high levels of CLA can inhibit the bodies use of its natural insulin.

The study provides critical new insights into the African Humid Period, a time between 14,500 and 5,000 years ago when the Sahara desert was a green savanna, rich in water bodies that facilitated human habitation and the spread of pastoralism. Later aridification turned this region into the world's largest desert. Due to the extreme aridity of the region today, DNA preservation is poor, making this pioneering ancient DNA study all the more significant. Genomic analyses reveal that the...
