What Is the Name of the Switch That Turns Off a Water Pump Due to Low Pressure?

AI Thread Summary
The switch that turns off a water pump due to low pressure is commonly referred to as a low pressure cut-off switch or low pressure switch. This device is crucial for protecting pumps from damage caused by insufficient water flow, such as when a filter becomes clogged. While many refer to general water pump pressure switches, they may not specifically address low pressure scenarios. Notable manufacturers of these switches include Ashcroft, Static O-Ring, United Electric, and Barksdale. Understanding the correct terminology is essential for effective searching and purchasing of these components.

What do you call a switch that switches off an electric powered
water pump if the pressure drops to low? An example would
be if the filter gets clogged up and the pump doesn't get
enough water.

I see a lot of "water pump pressure switch 40/60 psi" but
that is not it. I don't know what to search for.

Just search for pressure switch. Some common companies that make these include, but is not limited too:

-- Ashcroft
-- Static O-Ring (SOR)
-- United Electric
-- Barksdale

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
