Typing =rand(200,99) in a new document generates a large amount of text, specifically printing the phrase "the quick brown fox..." multiple times, resulting in approximately 235 pages of content. This function serves as a text filler, reminiscent of older Easter eggs in Windows prior to version 95. The discussion highlights curiosity about its functionality, especially among users without access to Microsoft Word.
