AI Thread Summary
A 22 and 23 math subscore on the ACT can be considered acceptable depending on the colleges being targeted. Mastery of Algebra II, Geometry, and some Precalculus topics is crucial for readiness in calculus. The ACT may not accurately reflect an individual's math abilities for everyone. Ultimately, calculus readiness hinges on a solid understanding of algebra and geometry. Strong foundational skills in these areas are essential for success in calculus.

I took the act twice an got a 22 and 23 math subscore. Is that bad or good? Does thar mean I'm ready or not ready for calculus?

What math have you taken, and how old are you? The ACT isn't really a great indicator for me. Pretty much as long as you are solid in Algebra II, Geometry, and a few Precalculus topics you should be good. A 22 is good on the act depending on the colleges you are looking at, everything is relative.

calculus readiness is based on mastery of algebra first and geometry second.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
