AI Thread Summary
The user encountered an issue with their TI-89 calculator, where long answers were displayed as empty braces ({}). The problem was traced back to the variable "w" being redefined to represent the wronskian due to the loading of external programs. The user resolved the issue by switching to a different variable. Additionally, there was a discussion about the necessity of differential equations, particularly in the context of understanding relationships between variables in physics, such as force and acceleration. The user expressed confusion over the differences between force equations and the implications of time-dependent variables, highlighting the complexity of these concepts in calculus and physics.

I don't know what I did, but now anytime my answer is going to be long, I get {} as an answer, nothing in between. Any thoughts?

Ok, it's only with variables other than x, like w.

Ok, sorry guys, I have found the problem. Someone loaded programs into my calculator and w now stands for wronskian, i'll need to use another variable.

thx.
Angela.

Can someone tell me why differential equations are needed?
I can calculate with integrals. There I know that I can calculate the Area.

F=m*a in F=d(m*v)/d(t) or something like that.
where's the different if I write F=m*a or F=d(m*v)/d(t)
Can somebody explan me that (and explain me, why m*a=d(m*v)/d(t))
(I know that a=s/t^2 and with that a=v/t)
Sorry for all these questions. arghh

because in general x, v, a, m,... are not constants, they are time dependend (amongs other things).

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
