AI Thread Summary
To calculate the distance covered by a body accelerating from rest at 6 m/s² for 3 minutes, the formula S = ut + 1/2 at² is used, where S is distance, u is initial speed (0), t is time (180 seconds), and a is acceleration. Plugging in the values, the calculation yields S = 0*180 + 1/2*6*180², resulting in a distance of 97200 meters. Some forum members emphasized the importance of not simply providing answers without encouraging independent problem-solving. The discussion also touched on forum rules regarding assistance and the need for users to engage in their own research. Overall, the conversation highlighted both the calculation process and the community's approach to educational support.

Hi , hello adios I'm new to these forums and require help to solve this Queston.

Find the distance covered by a body which initially starts from rest and then accelerates with 6 m/s^2 for 3 minutes.

Please write the answer in detail as I read in 9 grade , thnx

Welcome to Physics Forumso:)
Formula is
S=ut+1/2at2
Where s is distance
u is initial speed
t is time
a is acceleration

So S=0*180+1/2*6*180
=97200m

This is a simple question.Have you tried it for yourself?

He asked to give it in detail.

that's against the rules. that's all I am saying, now he didn't have to do the research to figure it out himself.

If the OP asked you to give him $100, would you have forked over the cash?
