Parallel Plates Velocity of Electron

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on understanding the velocity of an electron traveling through parallel plates, likely referring to capacitors and uniform electric fields. Key formulas mentioned include the equations of motion in kinematics, specifically acceleration calculated as force divided by mass (a=F/m), and the relationship between electric force and charge (E=F/q). These principles are essential for calculating the electron's velocity in the context of electric fields between parallel plates.

Help! Parallel Plates Velocity of Electron

New to the forums and am hoping to find some major help...

I need some help understanding parallel plates and how to calculate the velocity of an electron going through them. What formula's would I use?

Any help would be appreciated...please help me!

Thanks,

...Dan

i'm assuming you mean parellel plates as capacitors and uniform electric fields.

you need:
three quasions of kinamatics
a=F/m
E=F/q

thanks for the help

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
