    Thanks for the welcome. The equation comes from emperical equations from a tow tank in the 1960's to define the lift coefficient of a deadrise planing surface of a boat at speed. Thanks for the help. I have plotted the equation in excel then added a trendline to get a good fit and backed out equations, very cumbersome.
