Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the role of physics in engineering, specifically focusing on how various physics topics can be applied within engineering contexts. Participants are seeking suggestions for topics and information relevant to a report that connects physics principles to engineering applications.

Discussion Character

  • Homework-related
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Exploratory

Main Points Raised

  • One participant suggests that engineering is essentially applied physics, implying a close relationship between the two fields.
  • Another participant asks for clarification on the specific area of engineering the report will focus on, indicating that different branches may have distinct applications of physics.
  • A participant mentions general topics such as force and motion as potential subjects for exploration in the report.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the interconnectedness of physics and engineering, but there is no consensus on specific topics or areas of focus for the report.

Contextual Notes

Hi guys i have to do a report on 3 different topics in physics and how they have been used in engineering. Can you guys suggest me some topics? and help me find good info
thanx

Um, pick any topic you want. Engineering is applied physics. In fact, it doesn't even make sense to separate the two.

Welcome to the PF. I agree with Cyrus, Engineering is really Applied Physics, at least a form of it.

What kind of Engineering are you doing to focus on for this report? Since you posted in the ME forum, are you looking for ME applications? There are a number in EE, but probably many in ME as well.

Please post more details, and tell us what you think some of the topics might be...

any topic like force and motion etc. What should i write that how that plays a role in engineering
