SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the challenge of measuring vibration frequency using force gauges, specifically referencing tools from Quality Force Gauges. Participants emphasize that frequency and force are distinct measurements, indicating that using a force gauge for frequency measurement is complex and may not yield accurate results. The need for clarity on the correct methodology for measuring vibration frequency with these tools is highlighted, particularly in the context of an upcoming exam.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of vibration measurement principles
  • Familiarity with force gauge operation
  • Basic knowledge of frequency and force differentiation
  • Experience with experimental setups in engineering contexts
NEXT STEPS
  • Research methods for measuring vibration frequency using accelerometers
  • Learn about the use of FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) in vibration analysis
  • Explore the specifications and limitations of Quality Force Gauges
  • Investigate alternative tools for accurate vibration measurement
USEFUL FOR

Engineering students, mechanical engineers, and anyone involved in vibration analysis or testing methodologies will benefit from this discussion.

I need help in below matter. During the classes on my college we used this type of testing stand with force gauges : http://www.qualityforcegauges.com/force-gauges/ Unfortunately the exam is coming in strides and I still don’t know how to measure the vibration frequency. So I’d like to ask you has anyone used similar force gauges to measure the vibration frequency? How to use it to get the right result of measure? Thanks in advance!

It's real tough to measure frequency with a force gauge. You do realize that frequency and force are two different things.
