AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around solving word ladder puzzles, where participants change one letter at a time to form new words. A user expresses confusion about the task, prompting others to explain the process. They clarify that each step must result in a valid word and that the order of letters remains unchanged. Examples are provided, demonstrating how to transition from "point" to "raids" and from "bolt" to "card." The conversation highlights the collaborative effort to understand and solve these brainteasers effectively.

I don't know if this is a math question, but my math teacher gave this fun sheet to me but I have no idea to do it because I have no idea what it is asking. Maybe someone can help me out:
You can change one letter on each step, and each step has to contain a "real word". You can move up or down the ladeder.

point
-----

-----

-----

-----
raids

This is one ladder. Another one is:

bolt
------

------

------

------
card

Anyone know how to do these question?

Well, there's no system. At each level you just take each letter from the word you want to "get to" and see if it fits the word you've got. Note that the order of the letters in each step isn't scrambled.

For example, in the first one the only letter that can be placed in its place from "raids" in "point" is 'a' which then changes the word to "paint".

Well Just try them out.
Aviv87 has instructed very well

The first one:
Point
Paint
Pains
Rains
Raids

The second one:

Bolt
Colt
Cold
Cord
Card

Haha Thanks soo much prasanna:) I love you!

TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
Kindly see the attached pdf. My attempt to solve it, is in it. I'm wondering if my solution is right. My idea is this: At any point of time, the ball may be assumed to be at an incline which is at an angle of θ(kindly see both the pics in the pdf file). The value of θ will continuously change and so will the value of friction. I'm not able to figure out, why my solution is wrong, if it is wrong .
