AI Thread Summary
Stranded steel cable mechanical properties, including yield strength, can often be found in manufacturer specifications. Users are encouraged to refer to the ASTM A1023 standard for detailed data on various cable diameters and strand arrangements. Online resources and manufacturer websites can provide additional information. Consulting with the cable manufacturer is also recommended for specific inquiries. Accurate data is essential for applications requiring precise mechanical properties.

Hi,

I´m looking for a table for stranded steel cable mechanical properties where I could find for a particular diameter of cable (and possibly strand arrangement) which is the corresponding yield strengh.

Or do I necessarily have to go for ASTM A1023 standard to get this data?

Thanks.

I'd check with the manufacturer of the cable.

pantaz,

I see. Good links. Thanks a lot.

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
