To prepare for the Caltech entrance exam, focus on mastering algebra and trigonometry before tackling calculus. It's essential to have a strong foundation in these subjects, as many students struggle with calculus due to gaps in their algebra and trigonometry skills. Consider studying both Ma 1a - Freshman Mathematics and Ma 1a - Calculus of One and Several Variables to ensure comprehensive preparation.

Get your algebra and trig mastered before messing with Calculus.

Too many students pretend to know Calculus and remain inept with algebra and trig.

I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
