Testing golf ball aerodynamics.? how?

AI Thread Summary
To test the aerodynamic properties of golf balls with varying surfaces, one suggested method involves using liquid to observe airflow differences, similar to a referenced video. The goal is to compare the airflow around a textured ball to that of a smooth-surfaced ball. Participants are encouraged to explore alternative testing methods or variations of the liquid approach. Clarification on specific aerodynamic properties to measure is also sought. This discussion focuses on practical testing techniques for golf ball aerodynamics.

Testing golf ball aerodynamics.? how?

i need a simple way to test the aerodynamic properties of spheres with different surfaces.

i was thinking of doing it with liquid as in this video

is there any other way i can do it or perhaps a way i can do it the way they do it in the video

please help

What properties are you trying to calculate/test for?

Thanks
Matt

merely the airflow difference around the ball (shape). so i can compare it with that around a smooth surfaced ball.

Thread 'Collision of a bullet on a rod-string system: query'
In this question, I have a question. I am NOT trying to solve it, but it is just a conceptual question. Consider the point on the rod, which connects the string and the rod. My question: just before and after the collision, is ANGULAR momentum CONSERVED about this point? Lets call the point which connects the string and rod as P. Why am I asking this? : it is clear from the scenario that the point of concern, which connects the string and the rod, moves in a circular path due to the string...
