I am sure that polar bears mother scolded him for playing with his food.

Amazing!

I love watching our cats play "cat and mouse" in the bushes with the deer. Of course when Bun in involved it can get dangerous for the deer.

Once animals are acclimated to one another, it's pretty amazing the behaviors you can observe. There is a couple about 40 miles from here that rehabilitate injured wildlife, and it's interesting to see how some animals bond with others, and with humans, too. It has been fun to visit and carry around a baby skunk that wants to be cuddled, or pick up a groundhog that likes getting his head scratched. That baby skunk was small enough to get into the enclosures of some of the larger predators, and had made friends with some of them. Years back at our old house, a possum started showing up at night under our bird feeder, and every night he would show up with buddies. Cats, skunks, coons, all seemed to like hanging out with him. Even though the cats didn't like eating sunflower seeds (coons did) and even though the skunks preferred to dig for bugs and grubs, they would wait patiently until he was ready to move on.

Similar to the 2024 thread, here I start the 2025 thread. As always it is getting increasingly difficult to predict, so I will make a list based on other article predictions. You can also leave your prediction here. Here are the predictions of 2024 that did not make it: Peter Shor, David Deutsch and all the rest of the quantum computing community (various sources) Pablo Jarrillo Herrero, Allan McDonald and Rafi Bistritzer for magic angle in twisted graphene (various sources) Christoph...

Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
