OH NO, the smilies could go next!

<----grabs all the smiles and holds on to them.

The smilies go over my dead body!

Figure that Greg and Warren are still chasing Gremlins --- crashed twice(?) today, and every non-essential feature they can shut down is one less to wrestle with in their "bug hunt." They get to the root cause and fix it, then we can all put in our requests for dancing chipmunks carrying renaissance style illuminated lettering onto the screen.

Edit: One of the crashes did a triple echo on Russ when he was posting to his "Energy Policy" thread --- he still hasn't caught it.

Oooooh, yes. :approve:

Speed!

Fact is, I never noticed them in the first place. I've always just used the one on the index page, and it's still there.

But losing the names didn't increase speed. :frown:

I think as Bystander said it could be due to what they're working on.

The Sisterhood hereby formally declares the Smilies a protected species.

I've noticed that I get a double post when PF 'crashes' while I'm posting. I think I have seen a triple post of someone else before, and that may have been after PF went down.

As Evo mentioned, I have not noticed an increase in speed with the elimination of the names and links. Perhaps its too premature to tell.

The test will presumably be the stability of the site.
