Wind Turbine: Min. Wind Speed for 6MW Generator

AI Thread Summary
The minimum wind speed required to activate a 6MW wind turbine generator largely depends on its design. A small wingspan of 5 meters suggests that the turbine may require higher wind speeds to generate significant power. Generally, achieving full power output from such a turbine would necessitate high wind speeds. Additional details about the turbine's specifications could provide more precise information. Understanding the design parameters is crucial for determining the operational efficiency of the generator.

Suppose I've got a 6mw wind turbine with a very small wing span - 5 meters-,
what would the minimum wind speed needed to activate the generator ?

That would entirely depend on the design of the generator. That having been said, the wind speed to obtain full power would be very high.
