World Year of Physics 2005 Talent Search

AI Thread Summary
A talent search for young physicists aged 10 to 19 is being organized in the US to showcase their skills. Participants are encouraged to check with their local physics organizations if similar events are available in other countries, especially in light of the upcoming World Year of Physics. Various international physics organizations, such as the European Physical Society and the Australian Institute of Physics, are also involved in related activities. Engaging in this talent search could enhance a resume, but many participants may join primarily for enjoyment. This initiative aims to celebrate and promote interest in physics among youth globally.

If you are in the US and in the age range of 10 to 19 years old, here's an opportunity for you to show your physics talent.

If you are not in the US, please check with your respective professional physics organization if they are organizing a similar talent search to celebrate next year's World Year of Physics. Or check the official World Year of Physics website for a listing of already scheduled activities

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
