AI Thread Summary
To identify which of the two iron bars is a magnet, balance one bar across the other in a "+" shape. The magnetic bar will align itself in a specific direction due to its magnetic properties. Additionally, there is a concern raised about receiving warnings for posting this method, with a suggestion to contact the moderator for clarification on the warning.

You're in a room with 2 iron bars. One is a magnet and the other is not.
How do you tell which one is the magnet? You have nothing but the iron bars to test this.

Balance one across the other, like a +. If the magnetic one is on top it will prefer to point in a specific direction.

Form a T shape. The behavior of the magnet near the poles should be different from the behavior near the middle of the bar.

Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
