1. ### Complex Circuit problems!

Homework Statement Consider the circuit in the figure. Find the current in the 1.3 Ω resistor. Answer in units of A. Find the potential difference across the 1.3 Ω resistor. Answer in units of V. Find the current in the 10.0 Ω resistor. Answer in units of A. Homework Equations V = IR Req =...
2. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

oh i see. thanks so much for your help! i've learned more from you than from my teacher...
3. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

NOw, another question. How do I find the direction of this force? I did inversetan(f1/f2) = 26.6 but it's wrong
4. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

OK, nevermind. I did what I just posted and I got it right! F1 = ((8.9875e-9)(2e-9)(3e-9))/((sqroot(8))2) = 6.740625e-9 F2 = ((8.9875e-9)(2e-9)(6e-9))/((sqroot(8))2) = 1.348125e-8 sqroot ((F1)^2 + (F2)^2) = approx. 1.51e-8 YAY!
5. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

ok, then what about the "2*nC" part? nC is nano-Coulombs though... Am I supposed to find the force between 3nC and 2nC and then the force between 2nC and 6nC? After that, do I use the Pythagorean theorem to get the resultant force?
6. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

I still don't understand what i and j are and where all the other numbers came from.
7. ### Net electric force in particles in triangular formation

Homework Statement Three positive point charges are arranged in a triangular pattern in a plane, as shown below. The Coulomb constant is 8.98755 × 109 N · m2/C2. Find the magnitude of the net electric force on the 2 nC charge. Answer in units of N. Homework Equations Fe = (kq1q2) / (d2)...
8. ### Coulomb's Law, net electrostatic force

Thank you so much!
9. ### Coulomb's Law, net electrostatic force

Homework Statement A particle with charge −9 μC is located on the x-axis at the point 8 cm, and a second particle with charge 5 μC is placed on the x-axis at 6 cm. The Coulomb constant is 8.9875 × 109 N · m2/C2. What is the magnitude of the total electrostatic force on a third particle with...
10. ### Fundamental Frequency of a string

i already found v. i just dont understand the fundamental frequency part.
11. ### Fundamental Frequency of a string

Homework Statement The length of a string is 1440 cm. The string is held fixed at each end. The string vibrates in eight sections; i.e., the string has eight antinodes, and the string vibrates at 150 Hz. What is the fundamental frequency? Answer in units of Hz. Homework Equations f = nv /...
12. ### 2 bullets fired at the same time - find kinetic energies

OH i get what i did wrong. i messed up in converting!
13. ### 2 bullets fired at the same time - find kinetic energies

Yes, I did convert it into kg when I did the problem again but the site still said I was wrong :( my answers thus far: 3574.35 (w/o changing to kg) 1.833 (no idea) 35.7435 (change to kg) 0.01 (from a bad source :( )
14. ### 2 bullets fired at the same time - find kinetic energies

Homework Statement Two bullets have masses of 4.7 g and 11 g, respectively. Each is fired with a speed of 39.0 m/s. a) What is the kinetic energy of the first bullet? Answer in units of J. b) What is the kinetic energy of the second bullet? Answer in units of J. c) What is the ratio K2/K1 of...
