2A302J is what electronic component ?

AI Thread Summary
The 2A302J is identified as an electronic component that may refer to either a capacitor or resistor, with the "302J" indicating a value of 3000 (Ohms or capacitance). It could also be a 2SA302 transistor, which is a Germanium PNP low-power BJT with a maximum collector current of 100mA and a transition frequency of 6 MHz. The component's physical characteristics, such as dimensions, shape, and lead configuration, are crucial for proper identification. It is important to verify whether the component is surface mount or through-hole, and if through-hole, whether it is axial or radial. The discussion emphasizes the need for clarity on the component's appearance and specifications to determine its exact type.

A quick Google search yielded that it is some kind of IC.

What does it look like? If you go to www.findchips.com and do a search on it, you get matches for both capacitors and resistors. The 302J part implies a value of 30*10^2 = 3000 somethings (Ohms for resistors, microFarads or picoFarads for capacitors).

What are the dimensions and shape of the component you are lookikng at? How many leads? Surface mount or through hole? If through hole, is it axial (leads straight out the ends) or radial (leads perpendicular to the component body)?

Could also be a 2SA302 transistor.

Sometimes they don't print the "2SA" part on the transistors.

Does it look like a transistor? Does it have 3 wires coming out of it?

This is the circuit

It's a transistor:

Very basic question. Consider a 3-terminal device with terminals say A,B,C. Kirchhoff Current Law (KCL) and Kirchhoff Voltage Law (KVL) establish two relationships between the 3 currents entering the terminals and the 3 terminal's voltage pairs respectively. So we have 2 equations in 6 unknowns. To proceed further we need two more (independent) equations in order to solve the circuit the 3-terminal device is connected to (basically one treats such a device as an unbalanced two-port...
Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
