AI Thread Summary
To monitor webpage updates without manually checking, users can utilize various tools, especially for sites that do not support RSS feeds. While writing a custom program is an option, it is not recommended due to potential server load issues. Some websites offer parsing-friendly outputs that reduce server strain. For those using Firefox, the Update Scanner extension is suggested as a solution for tracking changes. However, users on Internet Explorer may need to explore alternative methods or tools, as the Update Scanner is not compatible with IE.

Its not hard to write one yourself. However I wouldn't recommend it as it increases server load. If the server can't support RSS, there isn't much you could do, but check it manually.

Some sites have designed webpages that allow for this sort of thing; which gives parsing friendly output and really condense content striped of html and more things mostly to reduce load of the server.

Thank you! Four, I'd follow your advice, and check it manually.

Spread the word. You may be looking for this.A mozdev extension.Simply query for update scanner extension
or

to my best knowledge it is a clean ext.But you my check mozdev for vulnerable or nasty ext.

Thanks hakan for your reply, but I think I have time to test it, because I'm now using IE, but the updatescanner is for firefox.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
