AI Thread Summary
Using a telecentric lens with an afocal telescope raises questions about the necessity of a focal point. Telecentric lenses are designed to maintain consistent magnification across the field of view, but their compatibility with afocal systems can be complex. It is generally recommended to have a focal point for optimal performance, which may not be achievable with a purely afocal setup. Users are encouraged to explore specific configurations and potential adjustments to their telescopes to facilitate this combination. Ultimately, further experimentation and research may be needed to determine the best approach for integrating a telecentric lens with an afocal telescope.

I have a nearly afocal telescope. I want use a telecentric lens with this telescope. My question is that ı need a telescope focal point or ı can use a telecentric lens directly with this afocal telescope?

TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
