Calculators Comparing the TI-89 & hp50g: Apps, Screen Resolution & Support

AI Thread Summary
The TI-89 and HP 50g are both advanced graphing calculators, but they have distinct features that cater to different user needs. The HP 50g offers an ebook reader and note-making applications, enhancing its functionality for users who require document handling. Additionally, the HP 50g allows for screen resolution adjustments, enabling users to increase character font size for better readability. In terms of third-party app support, the HP 50g is noted to have a broader range of applications compared to the TI-89, which has been criticized for its limited app availability and quality. Overall, the choice between the two calculators may depend on specific requirements for app support and additional features like document handling.

Which is best? I have the TI-89 but I am curious about how it compares to the hp50g.

Does the hp have ebook reader apps or note making apps. can the screen resolution be adjusted to increase the size of the character font etc. Does the hp have good 3rd party app support. the TI apps are not as good/available as they should or could be.
