AI Thread Summary
A microphone can typically be connected directly to the pink input on a computer, which is designated for microphones. Most modern motherboards come with onboard sound capabilities, meaning a separate soundcard is often unnecessary for basic microphone functionality. However, if higher audio quality or additional features are desired, investing in a dedicated soundcard may be beneficial.

Where the pink colored input is there's a microphone icon above it. So I'm assuming all I need to do is buy the microphone and input it into that slot? Or do I still need to buy a soundcard?
