Hello people . Just joined this community after google answered my doubts with this site
Welcome to PF!
Hi Jack2. Welcome to PF.
You had some doubts about this site??
I meant that this site solved my doubts as google returned with its link .
I think you meant "questions", I often see see people from your country saying "doubt" when what they mean is "question". There must be some widespread source of this confusion about the two words. Doubt means that you believe that something may not be true.
I hope that helps.
Just so you know, Jack2, using the word "doubt" to mean "question" is definitely a characteristic of Indian English, as opposed to American or British English. I (an American) never saw it until about 5-10 years ago, when large numbers of Indians started to appear on some forums that I read (e.g. PF).
I think the correlation has to do with IP addresses indicating the country of origin and with that being said I am closing the thread.
