AI Thread Summary
To create a twisting effect in Flash MX 2004, similar to the torsion of a rod, users can experiment with aligning small rectangles and applying a corkscrew effect, as seen in Swishmax. The challenge arises when trying to apply this effect to a cylindrical shape, as the twist is less visible on a 3D object compared to a flat plane. Solutions may involve manipulating the individual segments of the cylinder to enhance the visibility of the twist. Further experimentation with the layering and rotation of these segments could yield a more pronounced twisting motion.

Hello guys. I'm having trouble of how to produce a twisting effect/motion in flash mx 2004. The twisting I'm referring to is when you twist a rod at one end and the other end is fixed. It is like the concept of torsion.

So anyone have any ideas how to make this? An .fla perhaps?

umm guys, just experimented with swishmax. i saw this effect called corkscrew that smehows resembles a twisting effect. I just need to make very small rectangles and line them up to each added then add the effect to each one of them and each one of them slowly turns, creating a seemingly twisting effect. My only problem now is to apply it to a cylinder. The twist doesn't seem to be visible if it isn't a plane. So anyone have an idea?

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
