AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on a competition requiring participants to move a 25-30 ton truck using only human force and a chain attached to the front. Participants cannot touch the truck itself, modify it, or use external supports like trees or pillars. Suggestions include using a hand-cranked winch with a suitable anchor, such as cinderblocks, to create leverage. Questions arise about the rules regarding touching the truck's tires and the possibility of using levers without direct contact. The urgency is emphasized as the competition deadline has passed.

2 thou dollars! HELP HOW TO MOVE a truck
i need on help on how to move a truck of 25-30 tons by just human force. its a competition and the scores are based on a balance of time, people used (the less the better) and creativity of the system. there are 3 trucks and we have to move each 10 meters. rules are, that you can't touch the truck, only can touch a chain that is attached to the front of it, and u can't destroy the street or change anything in the truck or street. and there is no trees to use as support or amy pilar can be used. only u and ur system. please someone help me find a system

When you say "there is no trees to use as support or amy pilar can be used", can you supply your own anchor as part of your system?

I vote for a hand-cranked winch. But you'll need some sort of anchor like brewnog said (if you have time, you can just use a pile of cinderblocks as a counterweight.

Qs:

Level ground?
*You* can’t touch the truck - including tyres?
Can you use a 2x4 as a lever to wedge the tyres (not actually touching the truck)?

Mind you, Wednesday's been and gone...

Thread 'How can I find the cleanout for my building drain?'
I am a long distance truck driver, but I recently completed a plumbing program with Stratford Career Institute. In the chapter of my textbook Repairing DWV Systems, the author says that if there is a clog in the building drain, one can clear out the clog by using a snake augur or maybe some other type of tool into the cleanout for the building drain. The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...
Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
